Dream Waves Productions – University Group Project

As part of a collaborative university project, our team developed and established Dream Waves Productions, a fictional audiovisual production company created to simulate professional industry workflows and practices.

Within the project, I worked as Assistant Editor and Colourist, supporting the post-production process from footage organisation to the final visual delivery. My responsibilities included assisting with the editing workflow, managing project files, preparing timelines, and carrying out colour correction and colour grading to ensure visual consistency and enhance the overall cinematic look of the productions.

This experience allowed me to strengthen my technical skills in post-production, develop collaborative working methods within a creative team, and gain practical insight into the structure and operation of an audiovisual production company.

WITHIN is a poetic dance film that explores the human subconscious, vulnerability, and emotional isolation in an increasingly digitally connected world. Through movement and cinematic imagery, Within reflects on how the loss of connection with the present moment and those around us can lead to isolation and the gradual loss of our true essence. Blending dance and visual storytelling, the film gives form to emotions often left unspoken, inviting audiences into an intimate journey of introspection and human connection.

Loneliness is a subjective feeling and relates to the absence of contact, a sense of belonging or the feeling of being isolated. Not all loneliness is a negative feeling, during this period we can discover a lot about ourselves and really get to know ourselves. Of course, during this period we also go through dark moments where we don't see any light, everything becomes so dense that we feel like we could grasp at thin air. It's as if the days become almost impossible to see sunlight. There's nothing and no one who understands what you're going through and even if there was, you feel like you couldn't put into words what you're going through. However, at this very moment, you connect with your inner self and because there is no interference, you are able to create, express yourself and deeply analyze your inner self.

Voiceless, suffocated by this river and its current.

You who are by my side but for whatever reason you didn't hear me

You who walk beside me but don't see me.

I remember as if it were today the enthusiasm and euphoria that took over my being

This relationship that had been going on for a long time and that brought me a disquiet

Almost like I no longer have control of my own actions

That feeling that turned into anguish and loneliness...
